Terry Duane Palmer passed away at Methodist West Hospital on September 7, 2022 at age 67. Terry was born on January 12, 1955 in Leon, Iowa to his parents Harold and Ladine Palmer. His childhood was spent on the family farm, then he moved to Des Moines after graduating high school. He began working as an iron worker at Ace Construction where he met the love of his life Brenda Haroldson, and they got married on September 26, 1981. They were blessed with 3 children.
Terry and Brenda spent many years designing, building, and maintaining their dream home in Urbandale. They also had a love for traveling as a family both before and after their daughters were born. Terry had a passion for construction, trap shooting, and the outdoors. He enjoyed taking his daughters fishing and hunting at his childhood family farm, and spending time with his grandchildren making lifetime memories with them. Terry will be remembered as a loving father, dedicated husband, spirited grandfather, cherished son, and supportive brother.
Terry is preceded in death by his wife Brenda, parents Harold and Ladine, and infant son Travis. Left to cherish Terry’s memory are his daughter Laura O’Donnell (David) and their children Hannah “Jay” and Elliot, daughter Teresa Palmer and her children Bradley and Taylon, brother Keith Palmer (Sandy), brother Rick Palmer (Joan), sister Linda Redman (David) and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a funeral service held on Wednesday, September 14 at 12:00pm at Brooks Funeral Care (7975 University Blvd) with visitation beforehand from 10:00am-12:00pm. Terry will be laid to rest at Merle Hay Funeral Home – Mausoleum with his wife Brenda and son Travis.
