Becky died Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Panora Specialty Care. Graveside service will be on Tuesday November 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Glendale Cemetery, 4909 University Ave, Des Moines, IA. Celebration of Life will be at Felix & Oscar’s, 4050 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines, IA. All are welcome.
Rebecca Lynn Smith, daughter of William and Yvonne (Boehmer) Smith, was born on November 25, 1957 in Osage, Iowa. Becky loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed attending family reunions and remembered fondly those held at the VFW Halls in Charles City, Iowa. Becky liked to dance and enjoyed listening to John Denver. She played softball and enjoyed playing board games. She also enjoyed watching Iowa State basketball and football and was a big fan of the Broncos!
When she could, Becky was always the first to help. She particularly enjoyed helping with events such as lock-ins at St. Joseph Catholic Church and assisting at CYC (Catholic Youth Camp) with TEC (Teens Encounter Christ.)
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, brother Mark Smith, niece Megan Smith and her son William Smith III.
Becky is remembered by her brother Bill Smith Jr. (Debbie), sister-in-law Nancy Smith, siblings Mary Trucano and Eric Smith (Jodi); nieces and nephews: Brandon Smith, Bridget Schneider (Dan), Crystal Cortese (Nick), Jake Smith, Ashleigh Goepferich (Jason), Zachary Smith, Cole Smith, Michael Smith, Alexis Trucano, great nephew William Sheriff.
