Michael T. Thompson (Mike) passed away in his home in Centerville, IA on Nov. 4th, 2022. He was 61.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Friday Dec. 2, 2022 at Brooks Funeral Care, 7975 University Blvd, Clive, IA 50325 at 10:30 AM.
Mike was born to Curtis and Elizabeth Thompson in Des Moines, IA on March 10,1961. He attended East High School in Des Moines and graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in 1979. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1982 and was a veteran. He became an electrician in 1992 and spent his adult years working as an electrician and a small business owner. His hobbies included woodworking, being outdoors; camping, hunting, and fishing, and cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing elaborate holiday meals for his family and friends.
Survivors of Mike include his children, Jessica Thompson of Iola, KS, Stephanie (David) Miller of Independence, KS, Chelsea (Joe) Belsan of Wichita, KS, and Robert Thompson of Des Moines, IA; his five grandchildren, Connor Hayes, Kinleigh Thompson, and Alaina, Marie, and Joey Belsan; his siblings, Curtis (Kathy) Thompson, Christine (Larry) Sanxter, Karolyn (Carlos) Santos, Kathy (Darryl) Nemer, and Doreen Benfer; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Daniel.
