Linda Kay Boax, age 78, of West Des Moines, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27th, 2022, after a long battle with Leukemia.
Linda was born on November 25, 1943, in Des Moines. She graduated from Valley High School in West Des Moines in 1961. She married Robert Leroy Peterson 8/10/62 they had three sons. Linda married William Boax 6/6/1992. They resided in Canada and eventually moved back to Des Moines.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Martha (Walker) Rhone, her husband of 25 years William Boax, one sister, Sylvia Howie and one brother Marvin Rhone.
Survivors include her three children, Robert (Timberlea) Peterson of West Des Moines, Michael (Lori) Peterson of West Des Moines, and Darrin (Mysty) Peterson of West Des Moines. Along with eight grandchildren, Brandon Peterson of West Des Moines, Amanda (AJ) Waseskerson of West Des Moines, Brant (Alicia) Peterson of Platteville, Wisconsin, Katelynn (Juan) Munoz of West Des Moines, Tanner (Macy) Peterson of Jacksonville, Florida, Tytin Peterson of Des Moines, Sloan Peterson of West Des Moines and Coral Peterson of West Des Moines as well as four great-granddaughters, Kataleya, Adira, Milena and Remy Munoz.
A funeral for Linda will be held Sat. July 23rd, 2:00 PM. At Jordan Cemetery, 3500 Fuller Rd, West Des Moines, IA. A Celebration of life will follow at 3:00 PM.
