John C McKinney, passed away August 29th, 2023 peacefully at Methodist Hospital surrounded by his children.
John C McKinney, was born to Guy and Clara McKinney on December 21, 1945 in Des Moines, Iowa. Growing up in the Des Moines community where he attended school at Central.
John pursued a career in the Navy, Army and retired from RR Donnelly Printing Company. John did various part-time jobs while he was retired, including but not limited to babysitting his grandchildren.
John loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and motorcycling in his younger years.
John is survived by his Brother Michael McKinney, his 4 children, John M McKinney, Theresa Kaufmann, Angelle McKinney and Danielle McKinney grandchildren Alex McKinney, Kendall McKinney, Gracie McKinney, Gabriel McKinney, Nathan Kaufmann, Andrew Kaufmann, Brandon Kaufmann, Jacob Kaufmann, Enrique Aboites-McKinney, Averiana Murillo-McKinney, Lyric McKinney, Kai McKinney, Ariel Olguin and 3 great grandchildren Levi, Lilleeana and Benito.
He is preceded in death by his Father Guy McKinney, Mother Clara McKinney, the mother of his children Mary McKinney-Levy and his Grandson Francisco Murillo-McKinney.
He will be missed by many.
Dad, I hope you are getting that motorcycle ride up there with Fransisco.

There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, September 5th at Glendale Cemetery at 10:30am.
