On October 1st, 2021, at the age of 72 years old, James (Jim) B. Braman passed away at Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona, Iowa.
Jim was born on May 22nd, 1949, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School, Des Moines, IA., in 1968. After graduation he was drafted in the United States Army and served from 1969-1971.
Jim was a very quiet person, extremely humble, and had a huge heart. He was loyal, trustworthy, intelligent, and was a strong-willed person. Jim loved spending time with his family, enjoyed playing cards, cribbage, fishing, watching Iowa and Iowa State sporting events, listening to music, taking walks, and talking on his phone. Most of all Jim loved his Grandkids, and Great Grandkids.
Jim is survived by his children, Michael & Kelley Braman of Knoxville, IA., Melissa Cavin of Titonka, IA., Charles Braman & Yarisley Perez of Algona, IA., and siblings Robert A. Braman Jr., Boyd & Jan Braman, Dave & Sue Braman of Des Moines, IA., and John & Bette Maki (Braman) of Ankeny IA. 18 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, 5 Nieces, and 4 Nephews.
He is preceded in death by parents, Robert A. Braman, Essie (Ruth) Braman, and Sister-in-law Shireen Braman.
A memorial service for Jim is scheduled for Oct. 23rd, 2021, 10:00am located at Brooks Funeral Care, 2135 S.W. 9th St., Des Moines, IA. 50315. Immediately followed by a graveside burial and military honors at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 7601 Fleur, Dr. Des Moines IA. 50321. There will be a luncheon at VFW Post, 9127 4029, Urbandale Ave. Des Moines IA. 50310 following graveside service.
