Elsie “Jean” Ogle, 94, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in Altoona, IA.
Jean worked as a clerk/cashier while still living in Liverpool, England until she met James who was serving in the United States Air Force. They married on August 7, 1952. Once in the United States, Jean was a homemaker keeping a meticulous house and cooking for her loved ones. Jean enjoyed visiting with neighbors, her flower garden, and time with family.
Left to cherish her memory are children: David (Lynette) Ogle, Gary (Kim) Ogle, James Ogle, Kathy (Robert) Kieler, 15 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband James, parents Lillian and Alexander Roberts, 7 sisters and daughters-in-law Cheryl (David) Ogle and Lorre (James) Ogle.
A graveside service is planned for April 4 at 11:00 a.m., at the Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of choice.
