Ardis Irene Wicker passed away at Courtyard Estates on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 of natural causes. She was born on June 16, 1922 in Des Moines, Iowa. She grew up on the Southside of Des Moines and attended Lincoln High School. On October 4, 1943, she married Harlan L. Wicker. They lived briefly in California and Colorado before settling in Des Moines. She is survived by her children Harlan L. (Jerry) Wicker Jr. (Shirley), Vicki Marks (Doug), Rick (Kitty) Wicker and Ron (Dixie) Wicker, grandchildren Marc Wicker, Scott Wicker, Stephanie Haag, Chad Simcoe, Heather Lichty, David Wicker, Hunter Wicker, Jayson Wicker, Tim Wicker, Tessa Reed, Tiffany Wicker and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan, and siblings Jack, Dick, Bill, Kay, Audrey and Neal. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 10AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens located at 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, Iowa. Her favorite saying was “I’ll be darned”. I finally made it.
